Endodontics

Root Canal treatment is a dental procedure used to treat infected tooth pulp which would otherwise be extracted.

Root canal treatment is required when the dental pulp is irreversibly damaged. This treatment is often performed when pain relief from an infected or inflamed pulp is required. Depending on which tooth requires treatment, the procedure is often carried out over a single or multiple appointments. This treatment removes the infected soft tissue, cleans out the root/s of the infected tooth & it is replaced with a sterile, durable material. Without treatment, there is continued pain, further infection that can spread to surrounding areas of bone, and the possible loss of a tooth. A root canal will help save your natural tooth & continue functionality.  A crown is often recommended to protect the tooth after successful root canal treatment.
